The adventurers made easy work of a couple of cultists, but got smacked around by some animated gauntlets. Still, they continue deeper into the Cult of the Dead Three's underground lair. Best beware, this one has some big feels.

What DMre might not realise is that any gas he’s aware of for household use is close to odourless, and a smell is added to make people aware of leaks. The sewers are bound to smell regardless, but not of a combustible gas.
