Nothing can prepare you for parenting! These chaps might get wild (and they can be very unpredictable), but if one of them can’t sleep because of a bad dream or a thunderstorm, they leave me out of it. Can’t say the same for my kids. Parenting teaches you to pick your battles and communicate effectively when emotions are high. So it has been a useful education.
